Welcome to this first “blog” for Mental Health and Wellness! I am Kathy L. Fortner, Ed. S., LPC, NCC, a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, who has had a long standing interest in Mental Health Wellness and the promotion of education and prevention efforts within a a counseling practice. Having worked as a counselor in both a private practice and/or medical practice, the process to help individuals make positive changes and gain insight about their lives is truly a rewarding experience. With daily changes, I have seen individuals, couples, and families truly move forward with new skill development, healthy life style modifications and establishment of mental wellness to then set goals for achieving what is truly best for not only the individual, but for those in their lives. Through this blog it is hoped that individuals who review the contents learn at least one tool, gain one skill, or obtain insight which may either made a difference in their lives or in the lives of others.
